Checking and Changing the Camera Settings with the Smartphone

You can use the basic app for smartphone to check the status of the camera and make various settings.

Necessary preparations

1. Tap [Settings] on the main screen of the basic app for smartphone.

The [Settings] screen is displayed.

Setting Items

The following setting items are displayed on the [Settings] screen.

Connection

Displays the connection status between the camera and the smartphone.

Change Wi-Fi Password

Changes the password for wireless LAN connection. Follow the procedure below to change the password.

1. Enter a new password (8 or more characters) and tap [Change Password] at the bottom of the screen.

Single-byte alphanumeric characters and symbols can be used. (Spaces cannot be used.)

2. When the password has been changed successfully, tap wireless LAN button on the camera setting screen of the camera to turn the wireless LAN function off and back on (change the button color to gray and back blue).

The password is not changed until the wireless LAN function is turned off.

3. Tap THETA button or [Cam images] on the basic app for smartphone to connect the camera to the smartphone again.

If you cannot connect the camera to the smartphone, delete the old camera information used before the password change and enter the new password in the Wi-FiTM settings of the smartphone.

Caution

  • The password can be changed only when the camera is connected to the smartphone via a wireless LAN.
  • Note that the previous password can no longer be used.

Wi-Fi frequency band *1:

Changes the frequency band for wireless LANs.

1. Tap [Wi-Fi frequency band].

The message “Use only indoors when setting the frequency band to 5 GHz.” is displayed.

2. Tap the frequency band to use.

Caution

When the frequency band is set to 5 GHz, use the camera indoors only.

Note

The changed frequency band becomes effective the next time the wireless LAN function is turned on.

Camera settings

Displays and changes the following camera settings.

Sleep Mode *1

Enables and disables the sleep mode, and sets the length of time before the camera enters the sleep mode.Auto power off *1:Sets the length of time before the power of the camera is automatically turned off when it is not operated.

Camera shutter volume *1 *2

Sets the volume of the shutter sound and warning sound.

Transfer method *2

Sets whether to retain the still images and videos in the camera when transferring them from the camera to the smartphone. Select [Copy] to retain the still images and videos in the camera or select [Move] to delete them from the camera after transfer.

Power saving mode *1 *2

Enables and disables the power saving mode.

Plug-in *2 *3

Selects and runs the plug-ins installed in the camera. It is also possible to change the display order of plug-ins or uninstall them.Camera version *1 *2:Displays the camera firmware version, serial number, IP address, MAC address, etc.

License *2

Displays the information of the licenses used with the camera and the licenses of the plug-ins installed in the camera.

Share Settings

Sets the account for each social networking service.

*1 Settings can also be made from the camera setting screen of the camera.

*2 Settings can be checked and changed only when the camera is connected to the smartphone.

*3 Settings can also be made from the plug-in selection screen of the camera.
