Transferring Shot Still Images and Videos to the Smartphone

You can transfer the still images and videos saved in the internal memory or memory card to a smartphone.

Connecting the Camera to a Smartphone

1. Swipe down on the shooting screen of the camera to display the camera setting screen.

2. Tap

to turn on the Bluetooth^®/TM function (change the button color to blue).

3. Turn on the Bluetooth^®/TM and Wi‑Fi^TM functions of the smartphone.

4. Start the basic app for smartphone.

5. Tap

on the screen of the basic app, and then follow the instructions on the screen.

Note

While the camera is connected to the smartphone, you can operate the camera from either the camera unit or the basic app for smartphone.

When the camera is operated with the basic app for smartphone, the operation with the camera unit is locked, the [Switch to camera operation] screen is displayed on the LCD panel. When the camera is operated with the camera unit, the operation with the basic app for smartphone is locked, the [Switch to app operation] screen is displayed on the basic app. To unlock the operation, tap [OK] on each screen.

Making a Connection by Specifying the SSID

You can also connect the camera to a smartphone by specifying the SSID.

1. Swipe down on the shooting screen of the camera to display the camera setting screen.

2. Tap

to turn on the wireless LAN function (change the button color to blue).

3. Turn on the Wi-Fi^TM function of the smartphone.

4. Select the SSID of the camera in the network list of the smartphone Wi‑Fi^TM settings, and then enter the password.

The serial number printed on the bottom of the camera is the same as the SSID and password.

The SSID is “THETA + Serial number indicated by B + .OSC” (in this case “THETAYR00001017.OSC”). The password is the numbers indicated by A (in this case “00001017”).

The password can be changed using the basic app for smartphone.

You can reset the password by executing [Reset password] on the camera setting screen.

When the wireless LAN connection is complete,

turns on on the shooting screen of the camera.

Connection lost

If the connection fails, follow the procedure below.

1. Swipe down on the shooting screen of the camera to display the camera setting screen.

2. Tap

to turn off the wireless LAN function (change the button color to gray).

3. Tap

again to turn on the wireless LAN function (change the button color to blue).

4. Check that the camera is not connected to another wireless LAN such as a public Wi-Fi^TM network.

5. Execute [Reset password] on the camera setting screen.

6. Turn off the power of the camera.

7. Restart the basic app for smartphone.

8. Turn on the power of the camera.

1. Tap [×] at the top left of the shooting screen of the basic app for smartphone.

Transferred still images and videos are displayed in [Device images].

2. Tap [Cam images].

A list of still images and videos saved in the camera is displayed.

3. Tap selection button

The selection screen is displayed.

4. Select the still image or video to be transferred.

Multiple still images and videos can be selected. A check mark appears for selected still images and videos.

Tap (Select All button) to select all still images and videos

Tap (Cancel button) to cancel all selections

5. Tap [Transfer].

The transfer starts and the progress is displayed on the screen.

To cancel the transfer, tap [×], and then tap [Cancel transfer].

Caution

It takes a long time to transfer long videos, and the battery may run down during the transfer.
Videos with the video size set to [8K] (10 fps), [8K] (2 fps), or [5.7K] (30 fps) cannot be transferred. Videos with the video size set to [4K] (60 fps) may not be transferred depending on the smartphone used. If you cannot transfer videos to the smartphone, use the basic app for computer to play them back.

Note

With [Transfer method] on the [Settings] screen of the basic app for smartphone, you can select whether to copy or move the still images and videos in the camera when they are transferred.

When [Display after shooting] is set to on on the [Shooting settings] screen of the basic app for smartphone, if you use the shutter button of the basic app to shoot a still image, the image is automatically transferred to the smartphone. Videos are not transferred automatically.
