Shooting with the Smartphone
You can perform shooting using the basic app for smartphone.
1. Connect the camera to the smartphone.

2. Select shooting mode
Tap

at the top of the shooting screen of the basic app for smartphone to select the shooting mode.
3. Start shooting
Tap shooting button to start shooting.
Tapping EV at the bottom of the screen displays the slider for correcting the exposure. If you feel that the Live View image is too bright or too dark, adjust the brightness and perform shooting to obtain the desired brightness. Moving the slider to the right brightens the Live View image. Moving the slider to the left darkens the Live View image.
In the still image shooting mode, you can make settings such as the shutter speed, ISO sensitivity, white balance, shooting method, image size, Live View, and display after shooting.
Checking and Changing the Shooting Conditions with the Smartphone

- When performing shooting with the exposure program set to [Auto] and the “Option Setting” set to [Noise reduction] or [HDR Rendering], fix the camera in place using a tripod, etc. to prevent the camera from moving.
- If the battery level drops below a certain level while shooting a video, shooting is forcibly stopped.
- Videos with the video size set to [5.7K] (10 fps) or [5.7K] (2 fps) cannot be shot from the basic app for smartphone.
- For [4K] (30 fps) video shooting, you cannot start shooting with the basic app for smartphone if the battery level is below a certain level. Charge the battery before starting shooting.
- When shooting a video with the video size set to [8K] (10 fps), [8K] (2 fps), [5.7K] (30 fps), or [4K] (60 fps) using the basic app for smartphone, remove the battery and supply power to the camera with the AC Adapter Kit K-AC166 (sold separately; the model name varies depending on the country).
- Do not remove or install the battery while the camera is operating with the power supplied via the AC Adapter Kit K-AC166 (sold separately; the model name varies depending on the country). If you remove or install the battery, the power may suddenly turn off and the video file may not be saved correctly.

- When the position information addition function of the camera is on but the position information has not been acquired by the built-in GPS, if the camera is connected with the smartphone with the basic app for smartphone running, the position information acquired by the smartphone is added to shot images.
- When [Display after shooting] is set to on on the [Shooting settings] screen of the basic app for smartphone, if you use the shutter button of the basic app to shoot a still image, the image is automatically transferred to the smartphone. The still images shot using the shutter button of the camera, still images shot with [Display after shooting] set to off, and videos are not transferred automatically.
- When [Transfer method] is set to [Move] in [Camera settings] of the basic app for smartphone, still images and videos are deleted from the camera after they are transferred to the smartphone.
