Notice of Firmware Issue: RICOH THETA Z1 Firmware Version 3.50.2

An issue has been identified in the firmware released on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

■Affected Firmware Version

RICOH THETA Z1 Firmware Version 3.50.2

■Details of the Issue

We have confirmed that the automatic exposure control (AE) may not function properly when taking the first image after powering on or waking from sleep mode, resulting in images that may not be captured with appropriate brightness.

This issue only occurs when shooting with the shutter button on the THETA Z1 itself, without using the RICOH360 app. However, this does not apply when using My Settings with HDR/Handheld HDR/Noise Reduction mode is set.

■For customers using the affected firmware

This issue can be avoided by shooting with the RICOH360 app. We kindly ask for your cooperation in using the RICOH360 app for captuirng until the corrected firmware version is released.

Currently, we have suspended the distribution of firmware version 3.50.2 and have re-released the previous version 3.40.3.

■About the corrected firmware

We are currently working to correct the firmware. We will notify you as soon as it is ready for release.
