Video Capturing mode

In Video Capturing mode, video can be recorded from the moment you press the Record button until you press the Record button again.

Necessary preparations

Tap the video icon at the top of thescreen to switch between still image and video capture modes.

In the Video Capture mode, video can berecorded from the moment you press the recordingbutton until you pressthe recording button again.

The maximum recording time per capture is displayed in the Capture Size/Frame Rate field (In the screenshot example below, themaximum recording time per Capture is "5 minutes").

Settings for Image Shoot Method aswell as EV (Exposure Compensation), WB (White Balance), and Exposure Mode canbe configured.

 

EV (Exposure Compensation)

Allows you to adjust the exposurecompensation (brightness of the entire image)of the captured video. Adjust the brightness appropriately while checking the live preview.

 

WB (White Balance)

Allows you to change the color tonesof the captured video. Select the one that provides the most natural color tones while viewing thelive preview.

Exposure Mode

Exposure is the adjustment of the amount of light delivered to the image sensor. In the THETA A1, there are two factors that adjust exposure: Shutter Speed (exposure time) and ISO Adjustment.  

  • AUTO: Shutter Speed and ISO Adjustment are automatically adjusted according to the shooting environment.  
  • Tv (Shutter Speed Priority): Configure Shutter Speed in the app’s settings.  
  • ISO (ISO Priority): Configure ISO sensitivity in the app’s settings.  
  • M(Manual): Configure both Shutter Speed and ISO Sensitivity in the app’s settings.

Below are the items that can be displayed under Video Capture Settings, which can accessed by tapping the gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen.  

Self-Timer

  • OFF  
  • Minimum 2 sec - Maximum 10 sec (in 1 sec increments)  


Resolution / Frame Rate (FPS)

The following values can be used to set the resolution (horizontal x vertical) / frame rate of Video.  

  • 2K(1920x960)/30FPS  
  • 4K(3840x1920)/2FPS  
  • 4K(3840x1920)/5FPS  
  • 4K(3840x1920)/10FPS  
  • 4K(3840x1920)/30FPS (default)  
  • 5.7K(5760x2880)/2FPS  
  • 5.7K(5760x2880)/5FPS  
  • 5.7K(5760x2880)/10FPS  
  • 8K(7680x3840)/2FPS  
  • 8K(7680x3840)/5FPS  
  • 8K(7680x3840)/10FPS  

1. Tap the gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen.  
 The Video Capture Settings screen will be displayed.  

2. Tap 4K(3840x1920)/30FPS under Resolution / FPS  

3. Select the Resolution (WxHxV) / Frame Rate you want to display the settings for in the pop-up window at the bottom of the screen.

The following two types of settings are available  

  • H.264 (default)  
  • H.265
