Automatically Updating the Firmware by the Camera Itself

The following explains how to set up the camera to update its firmware automatically and the operating conditions required for this. 

Update conditions

The update will be performed when all of the following conditions are met:

• The camera is connected to a wireless LAN router in the CL (client) mode.

• New camera firmware is available.

• The battery level is 67% or more.

Procedure

1. Set up a network for the CL mode on the camera.

2. When the camera goes to sleep or is turned off, it enters the firmware update mode.

The message “Update Firmware Cancel 5 sec” appears on the panel of the camera, and a 5-second countdown starts.

Pressing the mode button during the countdown cancels the update.

3. If new firmware is available, the download starts.

The message “Downloading...” appears on the panel of the camera.

Pressing the mode button during the download cancels the update.

4. After the download is complete, the update starts.

The message “Updating...” appears on the panel of the camera. When the update is complete, the new firmware version is displayed for about 2 seconds.
