There are two wireless modes: access point mode and client mode.
- Access point mode(AP): mode in which a smartphone or other communications device connects to THETA via wireless LAN
- Client mode(CL): Mode in which a wireless LAN connection is made from THETA to a wireless router or other device.
The operating procedure and connection status display may differ slightly depending on the model.

RICOH THETA X
Turning the wireless LAN function ON/OFF
- Swipe the RICOH THETA X display panel from top to bottom
- Tap the wireless symbol in the upper left corner of the screen.
Tap to switch the wireless LAN function ON:
- / OFF:
When the wireless LAN function is turned ON, the device enters access point mode and
appears at the top of the screen.
Turning the client mode ON/OFF
- Swipe the RICOH THETA X display from top to bottom
- Tap Client Mode
- If the wireless LAN function is turned off, "Turn on wireless LAN" will be displayed.
- Tap the toggle
Client mode ON:
- / OFF:
- will be toggled.
When client mode is turned ON,
will appear at the top of the screen.
When the client mode is turned OFF, the camera switches to the access point mode and
is displayed at the top of the screen.
RICOH THETA Z1
The wireless LAN function can be toggled by pressing the wireless button on the side of the main unit.
When the main unit is turned on, it is set to OFF.
Each press of the wireless button switches the wireless mode display on the main unit's display panel.
OFF (no display) → Access point mode (
) → Client mode (
) → OFF (no display)
When the camera is connected to a wireless LAN,
changes from animated (not connected to a wireless LAN) to lit (connected to a wireless LAN).
RICOH THETA V
In RICOH360, THETA V can only be used in Access Point mode.
The THETA V cannot be linked to the RICOH360 App when the THETA V's wireless LAN function is in client mode. Please use the access point mode.
The wireless LAN function can be switched by pressing the wireless button on the side of the main unit. Each press of the wireless button switches the display of the wireless mode on the display panel of the main unit.
OFF (light off) → Access point mode (blue flashing) → Client mode (green flashing) → OFF (light off)
When connected to a wireless LAN, the status changes from blinking
(wireless LAN not connected) to lit
(wireless LAN connected).
RICOH THETA SC2, SC2 for business
THETA SC2, SC2 for business does not have a client mode function and can only be used in access point mode.
Pressing the wireless button on the side of the main unit turns on the wireless LAN function and
blinks on the display panel.
OFF (no indication) → access point mode (
blinking) → OFF (no indication)
When connected to the wireless LAN, the status changes from
blinking (wireless LAN not connected) to
lit (wireless LAN connected).
