Using the RICOH360 app to control the plugin

Necessary preparations

This function is available for THETA X, THETA Z1, and THETA V.


You can start and operate the Plugins installed on your THETA using the RICOH360 app.

To install the plugin on THETA, you will need the RICOH THETA PC App and the supplied USB cable. Download RICOH THETA PC App

Launching Plugins

The procedure for operating plugins is as follows.

  1. Turn on THETA
  2. Start the smartphone app “RICOH360” and log in
  3. Tap THETA
  4. Select THETA that you have turned on from the list of registered RICOH THETA
  5. Tap “General” plugin
    The list of plugins installed on THETA will open

If the THETA and smartphone are online, the list of plugins will be displayed on the “Plugins” page.
If they are offline, tap Select the plugin to start on the “Plugins” page you are redirected to. After waiting a while, the “Plugins” page will be refreshed and the list of plugins will be displayed.


Up to this point, the operation is the same regardless of the model. From here on, the operation procedure differs depending on the model, so please refer to the model you are using.

THETA X

  1. From the list of plugins, tap the plugin you want to start.
    The screen for the selected plugin will open.
  2. Tap Start
    The plugin will start on THETA.
  3. Tap Operate
    The user interface set for each plugin will open.

To quit using the plugin, tap Quit.

THETA Z1

First, you need to select the plugin you want to use with the camera.

1. Select the plugin you want to use from the “List of plugins used by the camera” or the “List of installed plugins”.

  • If you select a plugin from the “List of plugins used by the camera”, tap Start
    to start the plugin.
  • If you select a plugin from the “List of installed plugins”, select which plugin number you want to start.
    The plugin will start. At the same time, the plugin you have started will be registered to the selected plugin number.

2. The buttons to operate will be displayed depending on the plugin that has been started. Tapping the button to operate will open the user interface set for each plugin.

To quit using the plugin, tap Quit.

The registered plugins can be selected and started by operating the camera buttons. Three plugins can be registered on Z1.

To unregister a plugin that has been registered with the camera (displayed in the “List of plugins used by the camera”), tap the plugin name and then tap Unregister from the camera.

To change the order of plugins registered with the camera, tap the plugin name and then tap the radio button for the plugin number you want to change.

THETA V

  1. Tap the plugin you want to start from the list of plugins. The control screen for the selected plugin will open.
  2. Tap “Start”.
    The plugin will start on THETA.
    The plugin will be registered on THETA V, and you will be able to start it by pressing and holding the mode button on the side of the device from the next time onwards.
  3. The buttons to operate will be displayed depending on the plugin that has started. Tapping the button to operate will open the user interface set for each plugin.

To quit using the plugin, tap Quit.
